The United Stated Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non-governmentally-involved 501 (c) (3) non-profit community of more that 3000 organizations working together to make green buildings accessible to everyone within one generation. This powerful organization urges “green construction” at all levels and lobbies hard on behalf of their goal.  In an effort to quantify their building goals, the USGBC has created the Leadership in Energy and /Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating system.
