Concrete Pavements

Many drivers take the surface on which they are driving or on which they park for granted.  The fact is that concrete pavements are and should always be the paving product of choice.

There are many advantages of concrete pavements:

  1. Durability – pavement life expectancy is high (often 30 years or more) and concrete continually gains strength.
  2. Safety – greater visibility due to light surface; concrete never “ruts”; superior traction.
  3. Value – minimal maintenance and little annual expense.
  4. Versatility of concrete – can be designed for up to 50 year life expectancy; concrete can be “whitetopped” over disintegrating asphalt to make a rigid, long-lasting surface.
  5. Can be designed from a sidewalk supporting foot traffic to an airport runway supporting giant aircraft.
Meeting competitive demands, concrete pavement technology has enhanced the industry to where today it placed more economically than in the past, concrete pavement construction no longer causes traffic delays and concrete pavement choices are providing ever-increasing assurances of maintenance free design-life.
